Mr. ,
I am writing to respond to the operational questions posed in your April 30, 2026, correspondence as well as to address your questions about the reconsideration process. As stated previously, your February 3 and February 20 submissions as well as your original grievance will be thoroughly reviewed during the reconsideration process. Note that this process may take several weeks, and you will likely not receive communication from the reviewer unless additional information is needed from you.
1. Should the new related complaint be filed as a separate grievance or cross-referenced? If the new complaint is against a different attorney, it should be submitted as a separate grievance. If the complaint is against the same attorney and pertains to the same general subject matter as the grievance currently pending in reconsideration, the additional information should be submitted directly to the attorney handling that reconsideration.
2. Should the witness statement or affidavit be submitted as part of the existing grievance or the new complaint? If it relates to the grievance currently under reconsideration, it should be submitted directly to grievance counsel. If it pertains to a new complaint involving a different attorney, it may be included as part of the new grievance submission.
3. If there are two or more related complaints, will they be assigned to the same reviewer? Upon receipt, grievances are initially reviewed by screening attorneys within the Office of the General Counsel. Review assignments are made based on an alphabetical distribution system, with each attorney responsible for cases corresponding to specific letters of the alphabet, determined by the first letter of the respondent attorney’s last name.
4. Who ensures overlapping evidence is not lost or inconsistently classified? Evidence submitted for a particular grievance is included only in that specific file unless the submission explicitly indicates that it applies to additional grievances. When clearly stated, the evidence will be uploaded to each relevant grievance file by office staff.
5. What route should be used for time-sensitive evidence? Evidence related to the reconsideration may be submitted via mail or email and will be incorporated into the file electronically by office staff.
Please note that is not an email address associated with our office.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Assistant General Counsel
