Our commitment
ADA Matters is a website about disability access. It would be a poor one if it were not accessible itself. We are committed to making this site usable by everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, voice control, magnification, and other assistive technology.
Standard we aim for
We work toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. That is the same standard United States courts apply to websites.
What we do
- Use clear heading structure, descriptive links, and plain language.
- Provide text alternatives for images and label form fields.
- Maintain sufficient color contrast and visible focus indicators.
- Mark redacted names and contact details so assistive technology announces them as redacted rather than skipping silently.
- Identify Spanish-language passages with the correct language attribute.
Known limitations
This site is built and maintained by one disabled person using assistive technology. Some pages may still contain accessibility gaps. If you find one, we want to fix it.
Tell us
If any part of this site is difficult to use, email info@adamatters.com and describe the page and the problem. We will respond and work to correct it. Reporting a barrier here is exactly the kind of thing every institution should make easy. We try to.
