Does ADA Title II apply to the State Bar of Georgia?

The Bar has taken more than one position. On May 4 and May 13, 2026 it granted and approved ADA accommodations. On May 12 it wrote it is not a public entity, and on May 29 that it is not subject to Title II. Courts have generally treated state licensing and bar bodies as covered by Title II, though sovereign immunity limits what can be recovered in some circuits.

Who is the State Bar of Georgia ADA coordinator?

The Bar's 2011 English grievance form and its current Spanish form name an ADA Coordinator with two phone numbers. The current English form does not. On May 12, 2026 the Deputy General Counsel wrote that the Bar is not required to have a published ADA Coordinator.

How do I request a disability accommodation in a Georgia bar grievance?
