Jeremy T. Berry, City Attorney for the City of Brookhaven, Georgia, wrote on March 2, 2026, that I was welcome to continue filing and suggested a conversation. The message came during an ongoing written dispute over records handling.
A conversation offered while records disputes continued. On March 2, 2026, Jeremy T. Berry, Brookhaven City Attorney, wrote, “You are, of course, welcome to keep filing and submitting everything you are filing and submitting to the City and others.”
What I allege
- The filing comment. On March 2 at 4:07 PM, Berry told me I could keep submitting requests.
- The proposed conversation. In that same email, Berry wrote, “I just thought some sort of conversation or dialogue might be productive if you are inclined.”
- The unanswered point. His March 2 message offered dialogue while the documented records and fee disputes remained part of the correspondence.
Human cost
In my April 8, 2026 email, I wrote:
I did not want litigation. I wanted the City to answer one question and produce the records the law requires.
Closing
I did not begin by asking for a conversation. I began by asking for records and answers. Berry’s invitation is in writing, along with the requests and disputes that preceded it.
Source route: Jeremy T. Berry dated correspondence and receipts.
How to read this page. Officials’ words are quoted from their own dated emails and letters. My own dated emails and my opinion are marked as mine. Labels in bold are my characterization of the dated facts beside them. Being copied on a letter does not show that a person influenced a decision. A count of requests is a count of requests, not a count of violations. Nothing here is a legal finding. Counts and dates are as of October 17, 2026.
