Reporting by the Disabled Dad. Built from dated documents.
Who is writing
I am a disabled dad who likes dogs, donuts, and dad jokes.
I write ADA Matters about how Georgia institutions handled my requests for help. The site follows what I asked, what each institution received, and what came back.
I did not go looking for a fight with anyone in Georgia. I went looking for records the law says I am allowed to have.
My public byline is the Disabled Dad. ADA Matters reports the institutional record. It does not speak for the institutions it covers or for parties in litigation discussed on the site. It is not legal advice, and I am not a lawyer.
Contact for reporting or an interview
Email info@adamatters.com with the subject line Media. Include your name, outlet, the story you are working on, your questions, and your deadline with its time zone. State whether you are requesting written answers or an interview.
You can also use the Contact ADA Matters page.
Written communication by email is the working method for this site; interviews are arranged by email first.
Response times
Include your deadline with your first message. A response or interview by that deadline is not guaranteed. An interview is not confirmed until you receive confirmation by email.
What you may quote
You may quote my original published writing with attribution to the Disabled Dad, ADA Matters, and a link to the specific page.
Keep my writing separate from the institutional words quoted within it. When quoting an official, identify the official, role, institution, and document date. Use the published source text and preserve its wording.
The invitation to quote my writing is not permission to republish material created by someone else. Contact me about reproducing a full article or using site images.
Find the documents
The Receipts holds the published source material behind the reporting, each document on its own page with a transcript, sender, recipient, and date.
The Questions Still Open follows the written questions and their recorded answers.
The Timeline lists every dated event, each linked to its document. Use the institution pages for the surrounding chronology, and check Corrections before relying on an older excerpt or screenshot.
The five records, dated facts
Record summary as of September 21, 2026. These are dated events, not a score and not a substitute for the complete record. Follow each link for the documents and later developments.
| Record | Dated fact |
|---|---|
| State Bar of Georgia | On April 10, 2026, the Bar dismissed my grievance, stating it had received no rebuttal. On April 21, Assistant General Counsel Leigh Burgess confirmed that both rebuttals were received and misclassified. The dismissal was affirmed June 30, 2026. In a separate case, fourteen written questions went to Jeffrey W. DeLoach, Chair of the State Disciplinary Board, on September 15, 2026. |
| City of Brookhaven and Brookhaven Police Department | The City priced a single open records request at $49,385 on March 2, 2026. |
| GIRMA, GMA, and Gallagher Bassett | Eight claim numbers for one case: the original claim of February 13, 2026, plus seven automated reports opened March 10 to 12. The file was closed April 1, 2026. On September 11, 2026 the Office of Commissioner of Insurance wrote that the case “does not involve an insurance policy”; a same day reply has no answer yet. |
| Georgia POST | On August 6, 2026, ADA Coordinator Meghan Fail wrote, in an email produced under the Open Records Act: “See below. I am not sure how to respond to this.” The Title II notice went online on August 7, 2026. |
| State of Georgia ADA Coordinator’s Office | The office sent three written replies on May 6, 13, and 14, 2026, and contacted the State Bar directly. A records request sent September 14, 2026 to the office’s Open Records Custodian mailbox had no reply by its September 17 deadline. |
The federal filing
On September 14, 2026, a page from this website, the May 12 page where the State Bar of Georgia wrote that it is "not a public entity," was included as an attachment to a motion filed in a federal case in the Northern District of Georgia. I am not a party. I filed nothing. I take no position on the litigants’ claims. The fact that material was filed is not a court finding about its contents.

Corrections and responses
ADA Matters welcomes documented corrections. Identify the page, the specific statement, and the dated source supporting the correction. Institutions and officials named in the reporting can use the same contact route to provide their response.
