As of October 17, 2026. Times are Eastern.
On April 28, 2026, Chris Harvey, Executive Director of the Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training Council (POST), wrote this disabled dad: “We will evaluate everything you provided and notify you when our evaluation is complete.” I filed on February 24, 2026. As of October 17, 2026, 235 days later, POST has decided nothing, and its October vote is “postponed until further notice.”
Asleep at the Wheel:
Asleep at the wheel. I filed a complaint with Georgia POST on February 24, 2026. Chris Harvey runs POST. As of October 17, 2026, 235 days later, I hold no decision.
On April 28, 2026, at 1:40 PM, Chris Harvey wrote: “We will evaluate everything you provided and notify you when our evaluation is complete.”
On July 16, 2026, at 11:28 AM, he wrote that POST’s complaint procedure “has been revised, and is still being finalized, since your complaint was submitted.” He wrote that a subcommittee would decide, and “the next meeting will be in October or November.”
On October 16, 2026, at 10:27 AM, POST’s Deputy Director of Investigations wrote: “Complaint presentations to the Probable Cause Committee (a subcommittee of the GA POST Council) have been postponed until further notice. POST will update complainants in the near future.”
Did nothing. Still does nothing.
Every Time I Asked, and What POST Did:
| Date I asked | What I asked for | What came back |
|---|---|---|
| February 24, 2026 | A decision on my complaint | April 28, Chris Harvey: “We will evaluate everything you provided and notify you when our evaluation is complete.” No decision as of October 17. |
| April 24, 2026, 6:55 PM | Written communication as a disability accommodation | His mailbox opened it at 7:54 AM on April 27. April 28, Chris Harvey: “I have provided your correspondence to our legal counsel for review.” |
| April 29, 2026, 1:14 PM | Who is reviewing the file | April 29, Chris Harvey: “Please communicate directly with Director Franklin”. No review result sent to me. |
| July 15, 2026, 9:15 AM | A written decision, who is handling it, and POST’s ADA contact and grievance procedure | July 16, Chris Harvey: “I will forward the information you requested about the ADA in the near future.” Never sent by him. |

The Man at the Top:
Chris Harvey has written me four emails in total, as of October 17, 2026. The last was on September 11, 2026, 36 days ago, and it said it was “not a substantive response.”
His mailbox has returned 9 read receipts on my emails. Five of the emails it opened, he never answered. On all five he was copied as the head of the agency, while the email went to someone on his staff or to the State’s lawyer. Not one drew a word from him.
What I Allege:
- Asleep at the wheel. I allege that I filed a complaint with Georgia POST on February 24, 2026, and that as of October 17, 2026, 235 days later, POST, led by its Executive Director, Chris Harvey, has issued no decision on it. Sources: my February 24 filing; my mailbox, all folders.
- A promise to evaluate. I allege that on April 28, 2026, Chris Harvey wrote: “We will evaluate everything you provided and notify you when our evaluation is complete,” and that no notice that an evaluation is complete has come as of October 17, 2026. Source: his April 28, 1:40 PM email.
- The meeting that never came. I allege that on July 16, 2026 he wrote that “the next meeting will be in October or November,” and that on October 16, 2026 POST wrote that complaint presentations “have been postponed until further notice.” Sources: his July 16, 11:28 AM email; the October 16, 10:27 AM email from POST’s Deputy Director of Investigations.
- Receipt only. I allege that his last email to me, on September 11, 2026, said: “This acknowledgment confirms receipt only. It is not a substantive response.” Source: the September 11, 9:39 AM email.
- A habit of reading and not answering. I allege that his mailbox opened five of my emails on which he was copied as Executive Director, on April 30, August 21, September 10, September 11 and October 7, 2026, that he answered none of them, and that as of October 17, 2026 he has written me nothing for 36 days. Sources: 9 read receipts from charvey@gapost.org; my mailbox.
What This Cost a Disabled Dad:
I write with assistive technology. I wrote every one of those requests that way. For eight months my complaint has sat at the agency he runs, the agency that certifies Georgia’s police officers. The meeting he pointed me to has now been postponed with no date at all.
Is this how they would treat their own family or friends that were disabled
What This Page Does Not Say:
This page does not describe what my POST complaint alleged or whom it concerned. It sets out when I asked, who I asked, and what came back. The labels are my opinion based on my experience. The quotations are POST’s.
