On February 24, 2026, the State Bar of Georgia acknowledged my grievance filed through its online portal against Brookhaven City Attorney Jeremy T. Berry. On March 3, the Bar dismissed it and copied Berry, the letter’s only copied recipient.
Seven days. The State Bar acknowledged my online grievance involving Jeremy T. Berry, City Attorney of Brookhaven, on February 24, 2026. Its receipt did not name the lawyer. On March 3, Jakarah Everett, Assistant General Counsel, signed the dismissal and copied Berry alone. Everett wrote, “This is a matter for the court to decide.” I do not publish what my grievance alleged.
What I allege
- The filing and answer. I submitted a grievance through the State Bar’s online route. The Bar acknowledged it February 24 and dismissed it by letter dated March 3.
- The City Attorney got a copy. The March 3 letter identified Jeremy T. Berry as the lawyer involved and listed him as the sole copied recipient.
- The Bar’s stated reasons. In the March 3 letter, Jakarah Everett wrote, “This is a matter for the court to decide.” The same letter said the grievance “does not provide sufficient basis for the Bar to conduct any further investigation.” It dismissed the grievance. It did not discipline Berry.
Human cost
In my September 25, 2026 email, I wrote:
Even writing to you costs me. I write with assistive software that I pay for by use. As I write this, I have 11 percent of this month’s allowance left. Every follow up like this one uses part of it.
Closing
I started with the City’s handling of my requests. Then I followed the procedures available to me. Seven days after the Bar acknowledged my filing, it dismissed the grievance, and the only copy went to the City Attorney.

How to read this page. Officials’ words are quoted from their own dated emails and letters. My own dated emails and my opinion are marked as mine. Labels in bold are my characterization of the dated facts beside them. Being copied on a letter does not show that a person influenced a decision. A count of requests is a count of requests, not a count of violations. Nothing here is a legal finding. Counts and dates are as of October 17, 2026.
