Who He Is:

John J. Funny is the District 4 Council Representative for the City of Brookhaven and its Mayor Pro Tempore. The City directory says John J. Funny “was elected in November 2021” and was “sworn into office on January 4, 2022”, and that John J. Funny has since been elected to another term. I wrote to the Council about open records and my ADA grievances, and John J. Funny received those notices.

On January 5, 2026, the Brookhaven City Council renewed the contracts of City Manager Christian Sigman, City Attorney Jeremy Berry and City Clerk Sandra Bryant, as reported by Cathy Cobbs in Rough Draft Atlanta on January 6, 2026.

The ADA warning reached District 4. On March 13, 2026, I warned the City in writing, twice, with the Council copied, that an ADA grievance had gone 15 days unanswered. John J. Funny’s Council mailbox opened both warnings that afternoon. John J. Funny never answered either one in writing, and has never sent me an email.

4. On May 12, 2026, I sent John J. Funny, on the To line, a notice to the Mayor and Council about my open complaints before a federal grant vote. Asked on May 12, 2026. No written answer as of October 17, 2026.
