Why He is On ADAMATTERS.COM:
I call this a habit of reading and ignoring. Between February 18 and May 12, 2026, Mayor John Park’s mailbox produced 67 read receipts, while I hold no written reply from him. The point is what happened after the Mayor’s account opened the correspondence.
- A habit of reading and ignoring. Between February 18 and May 12, 2026, Park’s mailbox returned 67 read receipts. I hold no written reply from Park. Park supplied no words to quote.
- The unanswered May notice. On May 12, 2026, a written communication about the City’s disability access process went to Park ahead of a City vote. I hold no written response from him.
In His Own Words: Mayor John Park and the “Open Book”
On the City of Brookhaven’s Transparency page, Mayor John Park writes that he “steadfastly stand[s] by this resolution,” calls the City’s website an “open book,” and invites residents to “email me directly.” The page carries no date. It was read on October 17, 2026.
I emailed him directly. Between February 18 and May 12, 2026, a search of my mailbox found 67 automatic read receipts from Mayor Park’s address and no written reply from him in everything I searched. An automatic read receipt shows a mailbox opened a message. It does not show that John Park opened or read it.
The City’s website asks residents to email the Mayor. This is what came back.
