SUMMARY
I asked the State ADA Coordinator’s Office for help on April 30, 2026. By May 6, the office had called the State Bar of Georgia, emailed it, and put the route in writing. On May 13, it wrote about my GIRMA request: “we cannot compel another entity to perform a particular action or cease from performing a particular action.”
What the office says it does
The State ADA Coordinator’s Office gives technical guidance on the Americans with Disabilities Act to state agencies, ADA coordinators and the public. It sits within the Georgia State Financing and Investment Commission in Atlanta.
The first response
The office put the State Bar route in writing six days after my April 30 request, on May 6, 2026.
The State Bar exchange
At 2:35 PM on May 12, 2026, John J. Shiptenko, Senior Assistant General Counsel of the State Bar of Georgia, wrote the office that the Bar “is not a public entity.” At 3:09 PM, State ADA Coordinator Stacey Peace wrote back: “there are instances where State Bars have been held to be Title II entities under the ADA.” I received that thread on September 22, 2026, when the State produced its files.
The office’s own limit
The office’s FAQ says: “Our office is not an enforcement agency.” On August 7, 2026, it wrote me: “The person responsible for ADA Title II compliance at Georgia POST is Meghan Fail.”
The production
When the State produced its 47 files on September 22, 2026, two August 7 emails that Stacey Peace received and sent about Georgia POST were not among them. I have them only from POST.
Where the record stands
As of October 17, 2026, counted from the State’s September 22, 2026 production and my mailbox, the State sent the State Bar of Georgia 5 emails about my request and addressed none to GIRMA, GMA or Gallagher Bassett.
