Start here if you know nothing
In Georgia, anyone can ask a city for its public records. The city can send an estimate for the work before it starts.
The City of Brookhaven sent me estimates. On March 9, 2026, it closed twenty of my requests.
It did not tell me the records did not exist. It did not send me records. It marked them complete.
THE ONE LINE TO REMEMBER
Twenty notices. Every one said the same thing: “has been marked complete due to lack of approval of provided estimate.”
First notice, 1:01:34 PM. Last notice, 1:07:12 PM.

What this record does not show
It does not show what records I asked for. That stays off this site.
It does not show whether any of the twenty requests were later reopened or produced.
It does not show what the City’s disability page says today.
Twenty requests in five minutes and 38 seconds. I cannot eat a donut that fast, and I have tried. The City managed it with paperwork.
