Complaints Filed Against Him:

On May 15, 2026, I filed a grievance against William D. NeSmith III. What came back, as of September 28, 2026: a June 30, 2026 letter from Jeffrey W. DeLoach, State Disciplinary Board, finding “no basis for this grievance to be forwarded to the State Bar Disciplinary Board”. Read the filing.

His Clearance:

On June 30, 2026, Jeffrey W. DeLoach, Chair of the State Disciplinary Board, dismissed that grievance in a single paragraph. It was one of six decision letters the Bar sent me in under twelve minutes that afternoon. Read the dismissal.

What the dismissal says, word for word. Jeffrey W. DeLoach, Chair of the State Disciplinary Board, June 30, 2026:

“I thoroughly reviewed the seven-page narrative description of your grievance against Mr. NeSmith, as well as the twenty-four pages of exhibits submitted in support of the grievance. Based upon a review of this record, I find no basis for this grievance to be forwarded to the State Bar Disciplinary Board for investigation of violations of Rules 3.4 (e), 4.4(a), 8.4(a)(4) and (a)(7), or any other Georgia Rule of Professional Conduct. As a result, this grievance is dismissed.”

That is the whole letter: three sentences. It does not say what fell short in the seven pages or the twenty four pages of exhibits.

The dismissal came at the screening gate, the first threshold a grievance has to pass. No investigation was opened. A screening dismissal means the Bar took every fact in my grievance as true and still decided the conduct was not worth a look.

The State Bar of Georgia’s lawyers later called his May 12 email “purporting” in a federal court brief. Read what they wrote and what I hold.
