State Bar of Georgia · ADA Access Diary · Day 4 of 25
Shiptenko sent the first substantive ADA engagement, granting two accommodations.
What had to be true
For accommodations to be "granted," the Bar had to treat I as a person entitled to access to its grievance process, the posture later contradicted by the coverage denial.
What the Bar said
Shiptenko, Senior Assistant General Counsel and ADA Coordinator, granted written-only communication and accessible electronic format. "The State Bar wants to ensure that you have the same rights and opportunities as non-disabled grievants." He stated the office "will not take any adverse action against you because you request ADA accommodations," and offered, "if requested by you," to postpone the reconsideration review after surgery and asked the complainant to "provide it to me with a date when Ms. Nash can resume her review."
What it cost
Not applicable for this date (no outbound). Note for later contrast: the postponement was framed as available only "if requested by you," with a date to be supplied by I.
