Mr. ███████,
I am writing to respond to the operational questions posed in your April 30, 2026, correspondence as well as to address your questions about the reconsideration process. As stated previously, your February 3 and February 20 submissions as well as your original grievance will be thoroughly reviewed during the reconsideration process. Note that this process may take several weeks, and you will likely not receive communication from the reviewer unless additional information is needed from you.
To answer your questions related to the reconsideration process and submission of additional materials:
1. Should the new related complaint be filed as a separate grievance or cross-referenced to Grievance No. ██████-█████? If the new complaint is against a different attorney, it should be submitted as a separate grievance, either by printing and mailing the grievance form or by submitting it through the online portal. If the complaint is against ███████ ███████ ███████ and pertains to the same general subject matter as the grievance currently pending in reconsideration, the additional complaint or information should be submitted directly to the attorney handling that reconsideration. This may be sent via email to ██████████████ or by U.S. Mail to: Office of the General Counsel, State Bar of Georgia, 104 Marietta Street, NW, Suite 100, Atlanta, GA 30303, Attn: Adrienne Nash
2. Should the witness statement or █████████ be submitted as part of the existing grievance, part of the new related complaint, or as a separate related submission? If the statement or █████████ relates to the grievance currently under reconsideration, it should be submitted directly to Adrienne Nash using the contact information above. If it pertains to a new complaint involving a different attorney and subject matter, it may be included as part of the new grievance submission, either by mail or through the online portal.
3. If there are two or more related complaints, will they be assigned to the same reviewer, separate reviewers, or randomly assigned? Upon receipt, grievances are initially reviewed by screening attorneys within the Office of the General Counsel. Review assignments are made based on an alphabetical distribution system, with each attorney responsible for cases corresponding to specific letters of the alphabet, determined by the first letter of the respondent attorney's last name.
4. If they are assigned separately, who is responsible for ensuring that overlapping evidence is not lost, ignored, duplicated, or inconsistently classified? Evidence submitted for a particular grievance is included only in that specific file unless the submission explicitly indicates that it applies to additional grievances. When clearly stated, the evidence will be uploaded to each relevant grievance file by office staff. Additionally, electronic notes are entered into each file to reflect that the evidence applies to multiple grievances.
5. What mailbox, upload method, physical-media method, or other route should be used for time-sensitive evidence that cannot safely depend on continued vendor access? Evidence related to the reconsideration may be submitted via mail or email as outlined above and will be incorporated into the file electronically by office staff. If a new, unrelated grievance is submitted, please submit all relevant evidence at the time you submit the grievance. If you wish to submit additional evidence after submission of your grievance, please mail it to our office.
Please note that █████████████ is not an email address associated with our office.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Leigh Burgess
