Why Annette Arnold Is On ADAMATTERS.COM:

  • A complaints analyst who stopped answering the complaint. Handling complaints is Annette Arnold’s job. On May 20, 2026, at 4:35 PM, Annette Arnold wrote: “As one of the department’s Complaints Analysts, Commissioner King has assigned this case to me.” The same email promised: “Once I have the response and review it, I will be in touch.” Five months later, my complaint has no written decision. Read the May 20 email
  • A broken promise. On Thursday, October 8, 2026, at 11:54 AM, Annette Arnold wrote: “This matter is currently under review; I will provide you with a response by the end of next week”. The end of next week was Friday, October 16. Nothing came that day. At 5:11 PM on October 16 I wrote to ask for the response I was promised. As of October 17, 2026, nothing has come. • The moving target. A letter dated July 29, 2026, over Annette Arnold’s typed name, said I needed “written authorization or Power of Attorney documents” to receive information about my own complaint. On September 11, 2026, at 2:23 PM, Annette Arnold gave a different reason: “This matter does not involve an insurance policy and is therefore not appropriate for the Office of Commissioner of Insurance and Safety Fire.” Read the two reasons
  • Read, then shelved. At 5:10 PM on September 11 I asked Annette Arnold which reason was the Office’s position, and on what authority. Annette Arnold’s mailbox returned a read receipt at 10:44 AM on September 14. On September 25 at 10:35 AM I asked again, with six open items. The read receipt came back at 3:07 PM the same day. The only reply to either was the October 8 “under review” line, 27 days after September 11. Read my September 11 question
  • Several weeks, then silence. On June 16, 2026, I asked whether Gallagher Bassett had responded. At 3:36 PM Annette Arnold wrote: “It could take several weeks for the complaint to be processed.” The email did not say whether Gallagher Bassett had responded. My five written questions of September 9, starting with whether my complaint was ever sent to Gallagher Bassett, have no answer as of October 17, 2026. Read the September 9 questions
  • A habit of reading and saying nothing. In October 2026 Annette Arnold’s mailbox returned five read receipts on my ADA grievance and my emails asking who the Office’s ADA Coordinator is. The person the State’s directory listed had left; that address answered: “I am no longer with the agency.” I had asked Annette Arnold for the coordinator’s name on September 11 and September 25. Annette Arnold never named one. Read the full story
