Who Is the Georgia Insurance Commissioner’s Office:
The Office of Commissioner of Insurance and Safety Fire is the Georgia state agency that regulates insurance and takes consumer complaints about how claims are handled. Its head is Insurance Commissioner John F. King. Its Complaints Analyst on my file is Annette Arnold. Its Director of Human Resources and Development is Grechelle Blocker. Its ADA Coordinator is Karen Coffey, Human Resources Manager, who wrote that she was named to the role on October 9, 2026.
Why the Georgia Insurance Commissioner’s Office Is On ADAMATTERS.COM:
- Under review, then closed months ago. On October 8, 2026, Annette Arnold wrote: “This matter is currently under review; I will provide you with a response by the end of next week”. On October 22, 2026, Karen Coffey wrote that the case “was closed July 29, 2026.” Read it
- Two reasons, no decision. A letter dated July 29, 2026, which first reached me on September 11, asked for “written authorization or Power of Attorney documents” to receive information about my own complaint. The September 11, 2026 email that delivered it gave a second reason: “This matter does not involve an insurance policy and is therefore not appropriate for the Office of Commissioner of Insurance and Safety Fire.” Read it
- The ADA Coordinator who was gone. On October 9, 2026, I sent my ADA grievance to the ADA Coordinator the State’s directory listed for this office. The automatic reply: “I am no longer with the agency.” Read it
- An ADA door built after I knocked. The office’s ADA page and grievance procedure went online on October 15, 2026, six days after my grievance. Karen Coffey wrote that she “was so named October 9, 2026.” Read it
- Six requests, no ruling. I asked for six written accommodations on September 9, 2026. On October 22, Karen Coffey wrote that the six “may be reviewed should you choose to open a new complaint.” Read it
