Christopher P. Twyman is the Immediate Past President of the State Bar of Georgia. He was the State Bar’s President in 2025 to 2026. He is the managing partner of Cox Byington Twyman LLP in Rome, Georgia. The State Bar’s own directory lists his role with the Bar as “Immediate Past President.”

The University of Georgia School of Law wrote on June 8, 2025: “Congratulations to 1999 alumnus Christopher P. "Chris" Twyman on becoming president of the State Bar of Georgia. He also serves as managing partner and leads the litigation practice at the law firm Cox Byington Twyman based in Rome, Georgia.”

He has been inside State Bar leadership for nine years. In his own words to the Georgia Courts Journal, July 25, 2025: “In 2017, I ran in a contested election to represent my region of the state on the Board of Governors.” And: “No one ran against me, so I became Secretary in an unopposed election.” His firm biography says: “He was elected to Bar leadership in 2022, and currently serves as the 63rd President of the State Bar of Georgia.” The State Bar’s member directory lists his admission date as 10/26/1999.

Why Christopher P. Twyman is On ADAMATTERS.COM:

• He judged other lawyers’ fitness. Then he read my notice and said nothing. His firm biography says: “In 2019, the Georgia Supreme Court appointed Chris to serve on the Office of Bar Admissions Board to Determine Fitness of Bar Applicants and served as the Fitness Board’s Vice-Chair until the end of his term in 2022.” It also says: “In 2021, Chris was named to the National Conference of Bar Examiners Character and Fitness Investigations Committee.” His practice includes “employment discrimination claims.” On April 21, 2026, at 6:48 PM, I sent Christopher P. Twyman, then President of the State Bar of Georgia, written notice that the Bar had admitted a problem with my file and its dismissal was still standing. • Nine years at the top, and no one to answer to. Christopher P. Twyman has sat on the State Bar’s Board of Governors since 2017 and in its officer chairs since 2022. In that time he rose from Secretary to President in an election where, in his words, “No one ran against me.” It appears to me that a leader who rose without an opponent did not feel he had to answer a disabled man either.
• Addressed to the President, read, and left on the desk. My April 21 letter told him plainly: “This letter does not ask you to adjudicate the underlying grievance.” It asked only that the President be on notice of the Bar’s “admitted receipt, misclassification, and exclusion of timely rebuttal submissions” before a dismissal issued. • A habit of reading and ignoring. Between April 22 and September 15, 2026, Christopher P. Twyman’s firm mailbox returned 19 read receipts on my emails. He has never sent me one email. Not one word.
• Deadline day, read and ignored. On May 14, 2026, at 10:27 AM, the day my deadline for the Bar to fix the problem closed, I wrote to him and the State Bar’s General Counsel: “This is what leadership, executives, and oversight are for.” I asked five written questions, starting with: “Whose statements reflect the official position of the State Bar of Georgia in this matter.” His mailbox returned a read receipt at 2:55 PM. • He sits on the committee over Human Resources. The State Bar’s Personnel Committee page lists “Mr. Christopher Paul Twyman Member 2027” and “Ms. Sandra Dixon Staff Liaison 2027.” Sandra Dixon is the State Bar’s HR Director. On June 8, 2026, at 5:05 PM, I sent Sandra Dixon a written ADA complaint and copied Christopher P. Twyman. His firm’s mail server reported it delivered. • Copied when the outside office was cut. On May 13, 2026, at 12:41 PM, William D. NeSmith III answered my email and kept Christopher P. Twyman and five other State Bar people on the copy line. The State ADA Coordinator’s Office, which my email had copied, was left off. NeSmith wrote: “I will send you a response today, if possible.” At 1:29 PM NeSmith pushed his answer to the next day. • Read a month late, still no answer. On June 2, 2026, at 2:03 PM, I wrote to the State Bar’s leaders that my ADA accommodations had been granted, then denied. Christopher P. Twyman’s mailbox returned a read receipt on July 6, 2026, at 2:28 PM, 34 days later. No reply followed. Read the June 2 email
